Therapeutic Riding
Therapeutic Riding was our reason for starting this farm 2 years ago. Our instructors have successfully completed Phase 1 and Phase 2 with PACTH (Pennsylvania Council for Therapeutic Horsemanship.) We provide riding for children and adults with emotional and physical disabilities.

The physical benefits of Therapeutic Riding include improvement in balance, coordination and muscle strength in an environment far different from a physical therapy gym.
|
| The emotional benefits may outweigh the physical. The horse acts like an equalizer and facilitator for those with disabilities. The horse is non-judgemental and works as a team member. The student learns communication skills and responsibility working with the horse and our team. Self image, attention span, self-confidence and motivation usually improve.
